How to make a predreadnought bowcrest for those perky Great White Fleet ships, you ask? Here's how I did the job in the Divine Scale.

Step 1: Cut from metal foil the basic shape, usually a wingy thing.
Glue this to the ship, then proceed.
Step 2. Adorn it with PE figures. Cut off various limbs to reduce the 'human' factor in their appearance, and create a swirly mixture of shapes.
Step 3: At the front, place a PE door with relief detail. On this you can then paint the red,white and blue or any other desired crest detail.
You can top this off by sprinkling with single anchor chain elements.
