Excellent. I've been looking for plans of the Hamilton class WHECs pre-FRAM, with no luck, until now. Thanks to you, I can now start my cutter.

They were all built in the same period, mid to late '60s When they were still trying to figure out what they wanted in a purpose-built oceanographic survey ship.... (instead of converting old warships and transports) That's part of what kept the Kellar from being built on schedule and eventually lead to it's initial cancellation cause the contractor couldn't keep up with the constant revisions.....

The Kellar and the Lee were sisters in that their designs were done for the same purpose and they look close enough to be derived from the same plans but as far as being actual sister ships built to the same plans? No they aren't.... There are differences....

Anyway I wish you luck, if I come across anything on them in the public domain I'll post it here......

Thank you, I found the plans of the AGS of the Silas Bent class.

According to Navsource, USNS Kellar (T-AGS-25) and USNS S.P. Lee (T-AGS-31) were sisterships.

Their dimensions are very similar, they look very similar - and they also look very similar to Robert D. Conrad class. I have the impression that the two class are based on the same design - but I am not sure, I have only very limited information on their design history.

No, the USNS Kellar T-AGS-25 was a one off, a single ship class... (and a kind of pariah ship, according to report always had issues and accidents so it was eventually canceled, and then eventually completed)

What I do have is the USNS Silas Bent T-AGS-26 the follow on class to the Kellar..... And from what I can gather is fairly close to what they wanted in the Kellar.....

The USNS Samuel P. Lee T-AGS-31 was the follow on class of AGS after the four Bent class ships.... (they are close to the Bent class as well).....

On the Robert Conrad class there is nothing in the public archives.... but that being said I've came across this....

They did a report on the ship design process from concept to builders plan and they used the Robert Conrad as the subject... It's supposed to contain sketches and some plans....

It would be a good place to start, but you need an account and the download has a price.... 35.00 for member access.....
