you will need a 2 channel set for controlling 1 motor plus rudder

if you want to steer the outer motors independently then you need a 2 channel converted to "tank style" steering and forget the rudder (a real pain in the derrierre) or use a 4 channel remote and control both outer motors with 2 speedcontrollers and the rudder with a small servo.

as i have no clue on the size of this model i suggest you check available room and displacement first you can use the 15 mm props from graupner to power the boat and if needed use a cheap servo or 1 of Conrad's 2 amp mini esc's as speed controller.

i run a 40 cm long and 6 cm wide "anti submarine warfare" Armed trawler using a MPX pico set in wich the esc is a modified servo and the rudder is controlled by a micro servo.

from years of experience with small boats i have learned 1 important thing.. stay well clear from big fast boats that take several meters to stop AFTER ramming and sinking your tiny boat.

Well i'm not positive with the way you want to control a single motor..... i'd say belay that idea... just stick to a rudder. But anyways, normally with forward, reverse, throttle, and rudder..... you only need a 2 channel radio. make sure its surface frequency. I prefer Airtronics equipment.

WEll Italeri got the 1/35 PT boat for October releas, I'm planning to make it into an RC boat. My goal is to use 3 electric motors, I also would like to make it possible to control a single motor, or the 2 outboard motors to steer.

Do you guys have any advice for me, like how many channals (normaly I only build static models, I don't even own a transmitter or something. so I have to start from nothing).
