Many thanks for the reply; I managed to get a reprint of the Sovereign book - it seems to be a general history rather than being too technical. I will look out for the KGV book, though.

I have the latter; I got it before Burt's reissue. I wouldn't get rid of it now; not only has it more detailed operational history but the discription of the changes to each ship are different.

I'd recommend it.

Royal Sovereign/KGV battleship books

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has the titles on the Royal Sovereign class (Peter C Smith) and King George V class (by V.E T arrant) and if so are they worth getting. I have recently bought the new edition of RA Burts 1919-1945 book and also Raven & Roberts British Battleships of World War II, both of which are thoroughly excellent. I imagine those two titles are the most comprehensive works, but I particularly like the two particular classes so would be interested in anything else about them, if they are good books.

Thanks
Joe
