Hello Lars, I did not know "Maxim" was you.

I just updated WarshipGuy at FSM 20 min ago on those similar links using google translate. That is a fantastic build at 1/700.

Warshipguy and Gene1 are building the Revell kits now. Gene is OOB and Bill, WarshipGuy, is doing the needed corrections. We are awaiting his posts.

So I did pick on you a bit with Bill. I indicated that the rake of the masts seemed to be missing. LOL... at 1/700 how could an 8 degree rake be seen anyway...

Unfortunately the provider, to which I had uploaded the photos, introduced costs and changed its database structure, so that the photos are lost.

I am painted them blue, because they were described that way in the article series [i]Reconstructing USS Kearsarge, 1864[/i] by Arthur C. Roberts. Probably also the boats of [i]Alabama[/i] were more colourful, but the description was less detailed.

I'm curious, why the lifeboats have inside area painted blue? there was a reason or it was a "fashion" thing of those days?

The last things were the boats and anchors. The boats are made by Combrig, Modelkrak and probably Italeri - everything, which was available and fitting. The davits and small cranes for the anchors are PE parts by BJ-Modellbau. [i]Alabama[/i]'s anchors are from the same company, but with an added stock. [i]Kearsarge[/i]'s are Admiralty pattern anchors, this time PE parts by North Star Models with the stock replaced by a thicker plastic part to depict a wooden stock. The anchor chains are also by BJ-Modellbau.
