I've been a member of this forum since 2010 but inactive. From 2009 thru 2012 I built 1:200 Aeronaut Bismarck using the Aeronaut model Tirpitz and the pictorial history of Bismarck to make the modifications. Three years, one divorce and two houses later the model was completed and under glass display in my home. This story along with other stories of this phase of WW 2 has been a source of obsession since I was about eight y/o ( I am 61). I was extremely happy to hear Trumpeter's announcement to make 1:200 Nelson, I purchased it and am in the middle of creating the base display stand for it. I did not take the time to think they would be making Rodney too. I was too impatient to wait. I intend to build Nelson using the pictorial history of Rodney.
Here's my reason for this post. I've read many if not all of the books on this battle and have seen reference made to Rodney's decks being crammed with re-fitting stores for her refit in Boston, including two large crates containing pom pom mountings. What happened to these during battle? I've never seen any picture of these and was thinking to include these in the finished model. Has anyone seen pics of these?
Any direction you can point me in to obtain an answer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, 42.6 inches isn't too bad. I think I'll buy this kit down the line when I see what aftermarket details come around. Although I prefer an early Rodney, the two ships have a nice look to them that will make great models to display.

Hull is 1082.5 mm beam 160 mm (taken from the box)

How long is the hull? I never seen this scale as a display model so just curious as the size. I love the look of Rodney/Nelson, for years contemplated the Commanders kit, lack of quality from them is why I never did otherwise would have jumped at it.

Is it possible the "round raised in rows" are torpedoe tube covers? British BB's had fixed torpedoe tubes.

Camera broke so just a quick in box review.

One piece hull, overdone plating detail, similar to there 1/350 HMS hood, will benefit from a sanding stick, no water line indicated, some curious round raised details in 2 rows along centre of lower hull, not sure what these are yet.

One piece Deck, much finer planking than Missouri or Bismarck.

Main turrets look nice, though gun barrels have an odd flare at the end, thought they and the secondries are hollowed at the end, both contenders for brass barrels.

The quad 40s look similar to those on Missouri while single 20s have PE shields and do not look to bad, so useable but probably contenders for after market.
The pom poms also look quite nice we some nice modelled on tread plate detail with decent looking ammo boxes.

Radars are PE.

Then funnel gets some rudimentary internal details.

PE for ladders and railings, and it looks like there is enough to do the whole ship.

A late war fit, so for those contemplating a Bismarck hunter you will need to do some back dating.

Accuracy, no idea at this stage I will have to let others comment as my references are pretty thin, I was hoping for a Hood but since this is the first HMS in this scale I decided it was a must have.

Now how about the Suffolk from the box art on the same scale
