Don't know about plans, but would a plastic kit help for scaling up? Aoshima made a few in 1/64 scale:

A bit off topic, but I wondered if someone could point me in the right direction to obtain plans to scratch build a modern Japanese fishing boat. (A "pole and line" skipjack type of vessel would be ideal). I have asked other forums but so far no luck.
