hallo all,
@ jmchaica , there are 2 books available , by BS or better known by Profile Morskie , on Monitors , HMS Abercrombie and HMS Roberts.
there are no close-up photo's of the hull , but the book has many drawings , I like the colour drawings very much.
I have searched in the book 'British and Empire Warships of the second WW' how the hull was made , but found no details. So I checked the plans I bought at NMM , and found this:
the shell plating is overlapping each other , so I think the plating must be bolted. After looking through these plans again , my fingers are itching for building a Monitor in 1/35. Dimensions in this scale 3m 25 x 77 cm 50 , not that much larger than my Torpedoboot Typ 39.
