Hi Aup & Aur, I just come across this nice build. Congrats!

Good to see you two still find some time for modelling, in between all your studies.

Nice work. I really like the weathering.

Are you guys still working on Bismarck?

Cheers

Very nicely done, i am finishing my 1/350 U.96 from AFV club and their offerings are very decent. You did a great jon on the i.58!

Very nice! I love those kits. Built I-27 awhile ago. Yours looks great.

Hi Aop & Aur, great project, must feel good to have finally finished her. The antique look of the paint work is excellent.
Congratulations guys!

Phil

Hello all :wave_1: :wave_1:

This build has been going on for a few years, and it never seemed to get done. We recently decided to finish it, and now it is our first completed model.
The kit is AFV club at completion version, and includes a small sheet of PE. Unfortunately, the set doesn't include PE supports for the floatplane (like the I-19 kit), so we cut spare railings into correct lengthes and painstakingly constructed it. The plane had been through numerous falls, so it looks a bit sick with all the repair works. The cage aerial antenna spacers are PE from White Ensign Models with Uni Caenis 20 denier thread for all the riggings.
Not very enjoyable to do...and not to mention the number of times things got accidentally torn apart. :mad_1: But we think it's worth the effort. The rest of the ship's rigging was based mostly on the kit's box art and pictures of 1/100 scale models of similar I submarines at Kure museum. Information of the I-58 is extremely hard to find on the internet.
The weathering is entirely handbrushed with Tamiya paints and a little use of wash.

Enjoy the photos!
