Green paint schemes on Japanese ships.

Greetings,
I was researching paint/camouflage schemes for Japanese ships during WW2, and found that towards the end of the war, they began painting their warships and merchants in green. When did this start, and why? UPDATE: This question was answered in the Main Forum! Thank you!
