Thanks guys. It sounds like Pro-weld is the way to go. I'm gonna have to get ahold of some of this stuff I think. With my current 350 Trumpy Nimitz project, I think it would be helpful in attatching the new, scratchbuilt sponson's onto the hull better. At least in my mind!
My biggest hurdle is to stop looking at Kelly's Nimitz!! Everytime I do, I take 2 steps backwards in frustration in knowing that I will NEVER be able to get to that level of detail!

Tenax, Ambroid Pro-weld and the stinky Testors liquid cement all weld the plastic. I used Tenax but don't like the fact it tends to create very tiny bubbles along the seam. I much prefer Pro-weld for a fast joint with this type of glue. I use the old Testors glue when I need a slow setting but very strong joint.

To take it a little further, when you use either glue, you want to have the parts together first, then apply a thin bead of the glue (I use an old brush). If you try to apply the glue to the part first, then stick it on to another part, the glue will generally already evaporate before contact is made. Hope I'm making sense!

I use Tenax quite a bit. It does literally "weld" plastic together, or melts it together anyway. It is a very "hot" glue, use too much and it will melt or warp the part. Also, make sure you don't leave the lid off, as it will evaporate overnight (don't ask how I know this). Another option is Pro Weld, which is very much like Tenax, though not quite as "hot". I use the Pro Weld most often. Keep in mind, both glues will only work on plastic to plastic applications.

Please pardon my inexperience, but is this product called Tenax any good? It claims to weld plastic together. I see this as being a good tool to have when scratchbuilding parts and putting them onto a model. Anyone?
