The A-12 probably would not have made it into production until 1998 The cost would be high and USN/USMC air would be a total mess. The USN would be operating with 8 CVN because its air wings are stretched out. By 2002 the airwings would be comprised of 10 F-14D or F-14B, 36 F/A-18C, and 10 A-12. Other planes in the air wing are 4 E-2C, 8 S-3B, 6 EA-6B, and 6 SH-60F.
