Hi- What I have done when faced with this dilemna is to build the hull with bare shafts and then enclose them in a skeg,that,s made to encase the shafts.I found that this works best.Get the shafts installed at the proper angle and length and then cover them .I use thick balsa and file a groove that fits around the shaft,cut the two halves to shape and glue in place. Apply fillets and finish out. I hope this will be of help. commodore4

Hi ,

I just would bore & ream the holes at the diameter of your shafts ...

I presume your shafts are "naked" , like this ?

Ok Mates,

Here is my dilema, seems that my skegs may be to narrow on the inside for my set of shafts. I am building a 1/96th scale RC USS North Carolina.

Anythoughts on how to apprach this? Should I cut the Skegs so the shafts fit and Align properly then refiberglass?
Any help would be great!!!
