Hi guys, the original photos were posted back at the begining of Jan and have since been deleted, but I reposted them a couple of days ago, so I don't think your missing anything new.

Dave,
I used WEM colour coats for all the main paint work, think that scheme calls for G10or maybe 507a, both dark greys, but the 507 has a blue tint. Both are in the WEM Royal navy colours range.

Allan, You do get a lot of surplus parts in the set, including a complete duplicate set of railings, but I don't think there's a complete duplicate set.

Nice build and fantastic paintwork...I have this kit in my stash. Tell me, is it possible to build a captain class and a US version from the same p/e set?

Hi dave,

Here are the photos - I've only taken these three so far as I've still got a plan to build a dockayard scene including the Riou:
K557-1.jpg
K557-2.jpg
K557-3.jpg
I did use the WEM PE - it's still listed as coming soon, but has been available for ages, its part number #PE 3594 and is in the US ships section, you might also want to order the Capatian class boats set in accessories - that'll give you all the RN style floats and boats.

I found the build pretty straight forward, and the instructions cover all of the needed changes, but give me a shout if you have any questions.

Andrew

Just joined as I am about to start on my own Captain Class. Although mine will be HMS Torrington as my Wifes Grandfather served on her.

I noticed I cannot see your photos of your build.

I have the book by Donald Collingwood regarding these ships but I would be chuffed to bits if I could see your build.

Also did you use the WEM PE set? I have the GMM set but this is really for the USS England and not for a Captain Class ship although it does contain some parts.

It dosent look like I can see the WEM set on thier website. Was it listed or did you have to request it

Anyway best Regards

Dave

That's alright, as long as the numbers are there!

Hi Sean,
Thanks very much, it's Not submitted yet, but when I get a decent sunny day I'll take some proper photos and send them in. I just wanted to double check, did you get my Ajax submission a month or so ago?

Nick,

Andrew, that has got to be one of the best build ups of the Trumpeter England kit I've seen. Excellent work, thanks for sharing.
