You could do worse than looking at "Navy Board Ship Models" by Franklin, published by Conway for general info and photos of the models in National Maritime Museum and private collections in the UK.

The bible for rigging must be "The Masting and Rigging of English Ships of War, 1625-1850" by James Lees, again published by Conway. The title says it all, but it is not a bedtime read, and it does presuppose that the reader knows something of the basics beforehand

For American ships, you could try some of those written by Howard Chapelle, "The Search for Speed Under Sail", or "The History of the American Sailing Navy", etc.

Everyone!

I am looking for websites, ref books, etc on French, British, American and Spanish war ships. I especially need line drawings, photos of builders models. rigging drawings. My primary interest is the 60 to 74 second rate ships.....

I have cut down a 1/100 scale victory to a two decker using "Greatest Sea Battles" by Oliver Warner as reference. Talk about a kit bash! Looks pretty good but i need any and all help i can get.
