As a fan of all RN warships 1880-1900, I wish you the best of luck. Please post some construction photographs for us!

Yours,
James D. Gray,
wishing he had enough info to do Trafalgar or Nile...

I assume you have the 1/192 scale drawings by Roberts...?

drop me a line @ jbys1-----------------------------@--------------tiscali.co.uk

( remove the spare hyphon lines!! )

I will send you what I have -- probably a lot of duplication--then again I may have a useful photo...

@ Chatfield...
ISW ( Iron shipwright ) did a 1/192 resin kit version

I have the kit--staretd and waterlined... but have shelved it for a while as I want to redo the deck- probably in wood--perhaps in card...

Hello David,

Many thanks for the reply.

And yes, i did receive your disc last year, with the images of the builders model of HMS Sanspareil, thank you very much. :thumbs_up_1:
I am still trying to get enough research info together for Vicky or her sister as the more the better in my atempt to build a good accurate model of her.

Work on the hull for Cressy is progressing very slowly as i have other projects to complete first, namely a rendal flat iron gunboat HMS Mastiff (build) and HMS Prince George Majestic class (refit).

How is your Niobe build going by the way?

Kind regards

Ian

Hi Guys, :wave_1:

I am in the process of researching HMS Victoria, Launched 1887, built by Armstrongs at Elswick on the tyne.
Commisioned 1890 and lost due to an embarassing collision with HMS Campedown in 1893.

The model will be built at 1/60th scale and be steam powered, if i can get enough info to do it justice!
My insperation for this project was and is, the beautiful static model built by Brian King in the late 1980's

What i am after is, further photographic images of either sister ships, specifically deck areas and general close in shots.
I have drawings and overall distance views of both ships, from the NMM and my own referance book sources that i have already.
Books used so far are;

Warships for export Armstrong warships 1867-1927
World warships in revue 1860-1906
The birth of the battleship
Steam,steel and shellfire
Modelling late victorian battleships
Conways all the worlds fighting ships 1860-1905

Any recommendations or help would be appreciated :thumbs_up_1:

Kind regards

Ian
