Swapping the bridges between the kits should work without any problems.

Just check that the bridge equipments/arrangements are the same between LAFFEY and HOBSON. Modeling HOBSON in November 1942 would have her with a quad 1.1-in mount (with ONLY ONE Mk 51 director just forward of the 1.1-in mount) and five 20-mm guns.

Thanks for the info. I think my color confusion comes mostly from the pair of photos on page 21 of Classic Warships, Warship Pictorial, volume 12 on the Benson Gleaves destoyers. The photo shows two images of Hobson, one in Ms 12 and one in Ms 15. While it appears that the two middle tones for the MS 15 camo, 5-H and 5-O, look like the two lighter tones on the Ms 12, the darkest color on the MS 15 is markedly darker than the darkest tone in the Ms 12 camo. Due to differences in lighting or paint batches?

To do the Hobson, I plan on using the flat bridge from the 1/350 Dragon Laffey kit on the 1942 Buchanan kit. Anyone else done this, and anything I need to look out for?

Ms 15 used no greens and was a very short-lived experimental scheme. HOBSON wore this scheme during the North Africa invasion, November 1942.

Developed directly from First Admiralty Disruptive Type. Used in 1942 on at least three vessels, the battleship INDIANA, the destroyer HOBSON, and the tanker TALLULAH.

Colors: 5-N Navy Blue, 5-0 Ocean Gray, 5-H Haze Gray, White, 20B Deck Blue (revised). Vertical surfaces to be a disruptive pattern of S-N, 5-0, S-H, and White*.

So the only "new" paint used over the Ms 12mod scheme, was white.

So if it was Ms 15, and the colors were greens, what greens would be appropriate? The equivalents to 5-H, 5-0 and 5-N? That would be convenient as they are available thru WEM.

Ever since seeing the photo of DD-464 USS Hobson in the Floating Drydock Ships Camouflage book, I've been intrigued by pattern and possible colors. I found a WWII color photo at Navsource, that might support the theory that it was painted in greens. Has anyone else whose seen this photo have any thoughts? Looking at the B&W photo in the Ships book and the larger, clearer version printed in the Classic Warships Benson/Gleaves book, the colors appear to be the MS 12 or possibly the later Ms 32 colors plus a lighter shade, white? I would like to do the Dragon kit in what will probably be a purely conjectural scheme and I'm open to any suggestions.
