Re: HMS Victorious

Very nice work man! :thumbs_up_1: Great job on scaling down the 1/600 deck too. It looks seamless now! Are you going to add a hangar deck or is everything glued already?

HMS Victorious

Hi, here is my 1/700 project - HMS Victorious in 1965 build.

It's a build based on 1/700 Aoshima's WII Victorious + Airfix's 1/600 1958 Victorious(Island and Deck) with lots of scratchbuilt parts. It's 70% done since project started 8 months ago

Best,

Mo

Re: 1 Aug, 2010 Dragon Models New kit survey

Just to note that the Illustrious class (Illustrious, Victorious and Formidable - let's leave Indomitable out of it at the moment) can have a nice choice of fits and naturally make at least 4 kits. Illustrious - Taranto and a "different kit" ...

1) HMS Intrepid/Victorious. Really need a British aircraft carrier
2) KM Graf Zeppelin. It was mostly built, so it's not a complete what-if!
3) IJN Taiho
4) USS Midway, as built.
4) HMS Vanguard (Oh, I suppose a Nelson would be acceptable. . .)

Re: Victorious battlegroup

Excellent work to cut the kitted full-hulls to waterline models. White Ensign Models has 1/600 PE for the Airfix series. For the type 965 radars, instead use WEM's "1/700" PE, which in fact measures very close to 1/600.
