Actually, I haven't been down to see him yet. I was hoping to get a plexglas cover before I head down with it. And thanks so much for the compliments.

Reagan Update
Hey all:
Been working on those tiny aircraft for my USS Reagan. Things are starting to take shape. I have placed aircraft in different sopts to see what she would look like. Here is what I hav so far: I think she is coming along nicely. I have to get those better decals though. Luckily I have another ship on the slipway that can work on till the decals get here. Happy building everyone! Ships are awesome!

Enterprise WIP - Advice needed!
So I'm banging away at my Revell Enterprise in 1/720. I have Starfighter Decals decals for the Big E as she was in 1962. After basic assembly, I have done the following:
-added PE railings and nets (should have done it after painting, but I wanted to see what would happen - never again!
-shortened the mast to its' original height as per photos and added antennas to the island assembly from GMM supercarrier set
-basic painting and I have begun decaling
Here are photos of my build to date. I would like honest opinions and input as to what needs to be done. I know the centerline stripe should be yellow, and I have some yellow decal sheet to cover the orange ones as I progress. I am going to make the catapaults from dark decals. Other than that, here are the pics and some other questions:

I've already mentioned the centerline, and I have said what I will do about the cats. I still have all of the other decals from Starfighter to add to the deck (elevator warning stripes, electrical outlines, JBD outlines, etc.) What else is needed here? Have I painted everything I can?

Are the box shapes surrounding the missile launcher sponsons supposed to be white? I also have to add a large white strip across the end of the runway, which I have white decal paper for.

Any other island markings? I just have to add railings around the lowered elevator. Also, I plan on adding a black wash to the elevators and then a dry brushing of steel to give them contrast to the deck. I was a little put off by the contrast of the black runway and gunship grey of the flight deck, but even the photos of early Enterprise have a real contrast.
As I asked, please be honest and let me know what's still needed. All advice is welcome.

Hi all, its been a little while since i last posted, anyways here are pics i took in 1996, USS John F Kennedy visited Portsmouth UK between 11/07/1996 - 15/07/1996 along with CVW-8, Tailcode AJ,
VF-41 - F-14A
VF-14 - F-14A
VFA-15 - F/A-18C
VFA-87 - F/A-18C
VAW-124 - E-2C
HS-3 - SH-60F/HH-60H
VAQ-141 - EA-6B
VS-24 - S-3B
VRC-40 C-2A
The quality isnt too good as my slides were stored in a damp area, but i think they are of use to someone building a JFK.
First set covers forward of the starboard side,

Hope you all enjoy these, next will cover starboard midships and island.
Happy modeling

Hey all, I have a friend who has been offered a pair of Arii Forrestal CVs for $25 each. He has three questions: what is the quality like, what scale are they actually and what is a good price. Thanks
