When posting several photos please try to put them in one post. You can post a limited number of images per message. If you have more images please REPLY to you own thread and add them in the same thread. This will make it easier to discuss and will keep photos together.

If your images are too large try this:
Quote:
A quick way of creating web versions of your images is to load them into windows picture viewer and use the email menu item to send them to yourself using the default "medium" option. when you receive them you can save them out to disk.

Method 1 for posting photos (Read and follow ALL of it PRECISELY - Do NOT skip steps unless otherwise noted!):

Note that these pictures are taken using Windows Vista and the board style called "subsilver2" - if you use a different operating system and board style, the buttons and windows may look different - however, the basic premise is the same.

*Instructions on using the photo attachment tool*
*Registered Users Only - Guests please use Method 2 in the next post*

Note: This tool is located at the bottom of the reply page - ie, the page you see when you click "Reply" or "Quote" or "New Topic". It is -not- a tool located under any particular menu or other part of the site.

Note: When using this attachment upload tool, Pictures cannot be larger than 400kb in size (to bypass this limit, see method 2). The dimension limit is 2400x2400 pixels.

Step 0: Click "Reply" or "New Topic" to access the reply page. Scroll down till you see the Upload Attachment heading.
Step 1: Click "Browse". A window will pop up displaying the contents of your computer. Now find the picture you wish to post.
Step 2: Select the picture that you wish to upload.
Step 3: Click "Open".

Step 4: Click "Add the file" to upload your picture to the message board server. Also note the message I wrote in the file comment box.

Step 4.5: You don't have to do anything here, but a window will pop up indicating that your picture is being uploaded.

Step 5: If you uploaded the wrong picture (you can check by clicking the blue-coloured name of the picture next to "Filename"), you can delete the picture by clicking "Delete file".
Step 6: If you wish to add more pictures, do Steps 1 to 4.5 again here.

Step 7: See text box in picture below for description of "Place inline function".
Step 7.5: Note the first vertical line you see - that's where my cursor was when I clicked "Place inline" and thus is where the code and picture will show up.

At this point, just click "Submit" and your post will be processed.

Note that only a limited amount of pictures are allowed per post using this tool for most members.

Photo Posting Method 2:

To post pictures via hosting the picture on a photo-hosting website (and thus bypass the 400kb image size limit to which the Upload Attachment tool constrains your picture):

1. Go to http://www.imgur.com
2a. *Optional* Create an account by clicking "Sign Up" in the upper right corner. Benefit of this is that you can log in to your account in the future and get the url for your picture again, should you wish to use it later. If you have a Twitter, Google, Facebook, or Yahoo account, you can use those to "sign in" as well.
2b. Regardless of whether you register, Click "New Post" in the upper left. Then click "browse". Find your photo. Click "Open".
3. The photo should then upload. A new page will open showing your uploaded photo.
4. Once the photo has uploaded, place your mouse cursor over the uploaded image - there should then be a little grey arrow on the upper right of the image. Click that, then click "Get Share links", then click "Copy" next to the BBCode (Forums) option. This allows you to then paste the link into your Modelwarships post. With this method, you don't need to manually add the [img] tags.
6. Press Ctrl+V (Apple+V if using a Mac) in your reply box. The image URL will now appear in the reply box.
7. Submit your post as normal. If the forum rejects your post and says the image dimensions are too big, then just delete the [img]and[/img] before and after your image links. This makes the image links just links, and people can click them to view the images manually.

Alternative photo hosts:

Flickr.com
Instructions for Flickr are similar to Imgur, but the sharing process is as follows:
To share Flickr links on this board, on your photo's Flickr page, click the arrow on the bottom right of your photo, then the BBCode tab, then select a size option (I suggest the Large 1024 option). Then copy and paste the code into your message.
