In a previous post on tips and tricks I posted that I was making my own canopies for the 1/350 USS Intrepid aircraft, I posted a pic that shows the work in progress.

Here is an update!

Thanks for posting, they look very good.

I don't like solid plastic canopies at all (in 1:350) and have been wondering if there was a way of making replacement clear canopy parts for suppliers that don't do them in clear - the result is so much better. I'll have to give this a go some time.

Not just the canopies, the entire aircraft look well executed. I'm not a fan of clear canopies, but this is well done.

Not quite sure how a solid plastic painted canopy would be preferred to an infinitely more realistic looking clear one? each to their own I suppose.

Simply because at that scale, when viewing the aircraft from a reasonable distance, canopies look dark grey. The dislike comes from how hard it is to use clear canopies and have them look good and not like a thick piece of plastic. So ultimately clear would be preferred if it was in the realms of ease, but typically is not.
