Very nice, Bill! It looks really cozy; neat and tidy. High class. :thumbs_up_1:

What scale are the books? Or are they decals? :cool_2: :wave_1:

Hi Carl. Oh no my friend those damn books are genuine 1/1 scale law library collection amassed over my career. I've been practising since 1985. Problem I've got is that I am still building in my free time and I am rapidly running out of room to display the bloody things.

May I say Carl that your CD Rack display stand is a great idea. Something I'll have to give some thought to, hmmmmmm.

Great thread with lots of nice ships and wonderful displays! :thumbs_up_1:

But how do some of you keep the dust and nosy little fingers away when the models are displayed out in the open???

Thought I might show you two of my models/displays; Bismarck and Tirpitz. They are both Tamiya's 1/350 and upgraded with PE from Gold Medal Models.

Glassboxes are home made and illuminated by LED downlights.

None of them has been equipped with wooden decks, simply because the light colour dont match the ships original teak decks, which you can see in the small wood bases the models are resting on inside the glass. These are in fact real teak from the Tirpitz who sank only a few kilometers from where I live.

I also added a little "bling" inside the boxes. In the back of the Bismarck is an original Kriegsmarine officer breast eagle, and in the front a small crest made from real silver and gold, both mounted on teak from the Tirpitz. In the back of the Tirpitz is an original Schwerin High Seas Fleet Badge mounted on a piece of teak from the deck. This badge was recovered from the wrecksite by divers some years ago.

I must inform you that the Tirpitz wrecksite is not regarded as a wargrave and is open for diving. The very few badges that has been recovered all origins from the ships stock, and NOT from anyones uniform.

Hope you'll like what you see?

Able,
Your cases look great! Do you make those? And if yes, how?? Or if you buy them, where?? I am really struggling with how to display my models. All are 1/350 ships so far.

able; wow, that's a lot of ships!

What scale are the ones inside the cases?

Here's another pic of my display - all 1/350.

The bottom case is awaiting Admiral Graf Spee wich is in progress and U-711 wich is finished. Not a perfect match, but I gotta use the space as best I can.

BTW: the piece of wood that's inside the case is a piece from the deck of the real U-711 wich sank here in Northern Norway.

Thanks for that Timmy, I have that link saved as that build is one of my all time favorite. I was just commenting that I didn't see it displayed in his house. :thumbs_up_1:

I have glass cases for my various models.

I also have a lot of 1/72 - 1/76 scale armor on open shelves over my hobby desk. They're so covered in dust right now that I'd be embarassed to post a picture of them...

Post subject:  Collection - Update

I posted some shots of my mini-museum from some years ago on this thread. Since then, we got flooded in the huge rains we had a couple years ago in Atlanta and I was forced to pretty much salvage and rebuild from the ground up. I've also had the chance to add a few additional models that I am proud of so I thought I'd revive this thread by posting some updated pictures.

I eventually want to go back and add rigging and other details to some of the older ones.

Hey not married anymore, Where ever I want is where they are displayed. I do have my own limits, the entire house is not a man cave. Not in the bedroom , kitchen, dinningroom or bathrooms,

Keith
