After 37 years I finally finished my model of the USS Constitution. I got the model from BlueJacket ShipCrafters the year before my first child was born. She is now 38 !
I worked on it as I had time for it over the years until I retired, then it was full speed ahead ! The Constitution was special to me because I served aboard the USS Basilone DD-824 (my next project !) and we were in the Boston Naval Yard for overhaul in 1971 and were in the dry-dock built for the Constitution. the Constitution was moored right next to the dry-dock so I walked her entire length the full three months we were there. Pictures of her are attached.

Talk about commitment to cause! :wave_1:

Well-done, she looks a treat. Are you going to make a build thread for your USS Basilone project once you get started on her, so we can watch your progress?

Really, really great job ! The rigging alone must have taken you a year !

Appears Blue Jacket Shipcrafters haven't missed a beat as they are still going strong.

Lovely work on that Constitution. To think of such a long build, but that the ship also survived that long!
