Hello guys,

I'm currently working on custom made decals for modern CVN hangar deck for my CVN-65 Uss Enterprise kit from tamiya. Here is an example for the mural of CVN65 using Coreldraw Graphics Suite. Printing them is no problem because walls are painted white and the high quality photopaper's depth can simulate square panels.
I've also made two sheets for the complete CVW8 Air Wing (all aircrafts and helos) embarked in 2001 on USS Enterprise using Coreldraw and USN website for reference. All Bu numbers for each aircraft are correct....
Unfortunately i finished it just at the same time starfighter decals issued it (scale 1/350th), but fortunately, I wasn't satisfied by star's sheets as not all aircrafts and helos were featured and several mistakes were made (S3 CAG tailmark and VFA-87 CAG tailmark). To print them, i used an OKI 3530 color laser printer on laser decal paper and the result is great.

For those of you interested, I have the two sheets available for download in US letter format, in full vector graphics both in Coreldraw (.cdr) and Illustrator (.ai) format. :cool_2:
You'll have to wait some days for the Hangar Deck sheet....

kUZNETOV will perhaps be on my construction list, but as i'm on the USS enterprise for more than a year now and as not a piece can be glued without correction :censored_2: :censored_2: , and as i have to scratchbuild a lot of them, my next ship will be built STRAIGHT FROM THE BOX with just photoetch added !!!! :mad_2: :mad_2: :mad_2: :Mad_6: :Mad_6: :censored_2:

LOL I feel exactly the same about Dragon's Aegis Monterey. It seems to me that they did not see a single picture of the actual ship before releasing the model... Therefore, my next model will be PitRoad's JMSDF Atago, which looks beautiful OOTB

Thanks everyone for your comments, took me a year to complete this sheets. Now i'm working on the boat. Hangar quite completed.... I've also finished photoechtching and painting 30 aircrafts + armament, just have to apply decals for 26 of them as i've done for 4 of them. Will keep you informed.... :wave_1:

the funny part is that you used your decals based on a layout which is very familiar to me, i can tell.
I should have done it quite the other way, really.

there should be more of this stuff coming, 1/350 airwing sets, but its a huge ammount of work to research, set-up, guess you did a great part.

Indeed Duncan, I used your layout for preliminary work. But I've redone page 2 and now it looks like that :

By the way, layouts will always be similar whoever create decals for 60 aircrafts...... :jest:

Rouyax,

You do some great work, but be careful before saying someone made a "mistake". I can back up everything I do with photos or information out of a book. The source I used may be in error and that can be the case from time to time. If I have to make a guess, I say so in the instructions/placement guides that come with the decals I sell.

Yes, 350-21 doesn't come with the complete Air Wing. That's what is says in the Web Store listing. http://www.starfighter-decals.com/35021-carrier-air-wing-8-2001-uss-ente.html
I do offer the add-on set for those who "have" to have the complete air wing. I have found that most modelers can't afford to put all of the aircraft on a carrier, or get bored doing 12 plane kits 4 times over. The complete set would'nt fit in the printing space and drive the price point away from the one I have found acceptable to most of my customers.

Keep up the good work and look forward to see your kit when it is finished.

Which proves my work is original and NOT a copy of ANYBODY's WORK ! Anyway, starfighter ace, you're right about vfa-87 cag, i've corrected my sheet. I was working from Tony Holmes pictures taken in june 2001, and a mishap happened beetween my pics.
Duncan, if you look closely, you'll see anti-collision stripes for quite all aircrafts on the sheet, it's just that when the pic is reduced for the forum, it's hard to see them. Here are zoom pics for all cag birds :
