Hovercraft show at Lee-on-the Solent Easter 2008....

It was bitterly cold, wind whistling with scudding rainclouds....

This years event was a joint effort-combined with a classic car show.

Alas the weather was very unkind--which kept all but the most hardy classic car enthusiast away...

...but....Ha! ....Snow flurries hold no fear for me in an old convertible.... Brrr!!

Anyhow-

The Hovercraft museum has had a few of the exhibits moved around or restored...

So whilst the bulk of the exhibits ARE still the same--and have been covered photographically here at MW before-I will add only a few images.

Previous coverage is here:

I took the opportunity to check on the wellbeing of my longtime loan to the Museum of my build of the 1/72 Airfix SRN 1 model.

It was still looking good and in pride of place!

Great shots Jim :thumbs_up_1: , I've always wanted to ride on one of those, how does it feel when you are riding it like kind of shaky?

Hi Jim (and the rest of the guys, too)

Quite an impressive collection the Museum have - mainly on the real things!
I saw them crossing the Channel (I was on the C.I.C. (last century, of course!!!)) and must say that the radar signature that those things make (plus speed factor) rushed me to ask the bridge if there was a plane skid surfing ;)

One of those real photos remembered me that when I was a kid (not that long ago  ) had one Matchbox like this Image

They look kind of "flat", don't they? :heh:

Thanks for sharing Jim
Rui
