Hi gang.

Just got back from vacation during which I fixed some of the errors I initially made on my big Yam, and added additional custom made super-detailing.

Follow the link to my website below. The Nichimo Yamato pics are on pages 5-6.

Let me know what y'all think!

I wish I could see them, but all your website does when clicking on the thumbnails is return you to the same page. I've tried both IE and Firefox...

EDIT: Nevermind, I've figured it out. Very nice work.

Well, I re-upgraded my Nichimo Yam in 2009 - added the Konishi METAL 18" turrets, metal 6" open guns, new ammo bags, and a bunch of other stuff.

The ship now looks 100% better than before.

Check it out:

I got many of the metal-cast custom-made upgraded pieces from Harry Ohanian, whose Nichimo Yam is on display at the USN Museum. Well now he has outdone himself. He finally got around to re-casting the main turrets!

I wish these had been around before I dropped $590 for the Konishi 1/200 bronze Yam turrets for my Nichimo kit.

He has been offering various 1/200 Nichimo Yamato upgrades on ebay for a couple of years now. I can VOUCH for the amazing quality of his replacement 5" open gun mounts, binoculars for the upper bridge, as well as many other pieces including the custom made .25 cal guns.

Well now he has re-designed and cast in resin the main 18" turrets. And man are they accurate!! The Nichimo 18" turrets look nothing like the real Yamato's turrets (too rectangular and too small) and are the MAJOR defect of this otherwise nice model.

Best of all, Harry's custom-cast parts are very reasonably priced.

Here is a link to his resin-cast replacement 1/200 Nichimo Yamato main gun batteries:

I can't imagine anyone who has built the Nichimo 1/200 Yamato not wanting to correct this primary shortcoming of the kit!!
