Thanks so much guys for your kind compliments! After so many months I've got some responses. In the mean time "Toom" the builder has completed Linberg's I-53 w/ Kaitens 1:72 and Trumpter's USS Independence LCS-2 1:350. I'll wait for him to finish Hasegawa's Akagi 1:350 and will show them together.

Beautifully built model. Love the weathering, just enough.

One thing I did notice and was shocked to see, the funnel are molded solid! I would have certainly expected more detail than that in such a well regarded kit.

I have the same kit waiting in the wings to be built.

Randy53 - Many thanks for your kind compliments! As for the funnels, you could cut open them. I still have another box unbuilt.

oierlings - Thanks for your kind words. You're right about the Swastikas.

aleccap - They are not included in the kit. In some countries such as Germany, Swastikas markings are banned and illegal. Therefore, many WWII German kits cannot provide them in box.
