Hi Gents,

An old project I start back in the 1990 but at that time the hull did not turn out to good so was put in the loft.

Over the last year I’ve been looking at my old projects and thought Id have ago at correcting the errors on the hull and start it as a new project.

It has come out not too bad so I will completed the build. I’ll update with more photos as I go if people would be interested in this build.

It's a good starting point!

I'm guessing that your storage space is better than mine - the old Graf Spee hull I have in my garage attic is in terrible condition.

Hello Navyshooter Thanks,

When I put any models in the loft I usually box them up or rap them in polythene sheet.

Davidp,

The plans I have are TC Design USS Fahrion FFG 22, two polish plans of ORP General T. Kosciuszko (F 273) ex USS Wadworth and ORP General K. Pulaski (F 272) Ex USS Clark. All of these drawings show different shape sonar domes and bilge keels, and stabiliser type and location.

The only photos of actual ships under water details I’ve seen are attached and are of the long hull OHP, the photos also show different locations and type of stabilisers.

So I’ve stuck with one drawing as I’ve found over the years unless you have actual photos of the ship at a set time under water detail is alway difficult to get right.

Yes I can see there different, but on photo of FFG 46 dome is different from your photos.

The RAN ships had the Thales Spherion TMS4131 sonar system and the UNS used SQS-56, now I don’t know if the housing were different. Any it’s way to late to change, and as I said before unless I had an actual photo of FFG 20 USS ANTRIM I will not be changing as it would be major mod to the hull. ( Which id built in the 1990)

Thanks for your input.

The hull was painted with three coats of resin, each sanded back, then it was painted with a flexible filler primer, next two coats of primer and sanded smooth then painted with the top coat. The dome is a plastic card framing, filled with resin mixed with French chalk and brass pined and glued to the keel.

There's a shortage of Perry's on the board, so I'm definately following. Gorgeous hull (overall ship is a bit less gorgeous though) !
Keep us updated :thumbs_up_1:
