Song:

What do you do with these great models? You would have a major collection by now.

Thank you for the excellent documentation of the scratch process. I really admire the old ways of building it yourself and attempt to struggle along with my efforts.

Always enjoyed my many trips to Korea and my very polite but very competent Korean associates.

Best regards! Tom

Hello Song!

You really are the grand master of timber! It is so amazing, the sharpness and precision, and, the more, the fascinating speed of your builds! It is fun and lecture watching your work!

I guess we all are curious what will be next;-)

Best regards from cold Germany!

Joachim

Hello Joachim!
Thank you very much! But I'm not a master only a little advanced modeller.
I've made some rigging. It's for signal flag used in sawing cotten thread.
Best regards from not much cold Korea!
Song.

Song!

Most inspiring as scratch building has mostly been replaced by rather intricate model assembly.

I flew as a 747 Freighter captain for 15 years and made many many trips to Korea. I always walked around extensively, exploring all the small markets and universally the people were polite and friendly.

Just been reading about KGV and Prince of Wales, interesting if somewhat flawed ships.

As always great work! Tom

From the close up photos I see the deck is scribed? You have done this yourself or this is some sort of sheet product? I am sure these are extra impressive in person. The Pom poms such as on turret 3 are jewels!

Regards. Tom

Hi Tom!
At first I've scribed by hand,But the result is no good.
So I sent wood panel to Pontos the etching wooden deck maker.
The deck lines was scribed(burned) by razor machine.
Thank you and be happy!
Regards Song.

Impressive as usual. I would guess that you are turning the small parts in a Dremel tool or some such?

The usual issue, which you seem to have conquered, is making them all the same. Wood is fun to work with and I have made many small parts this way.

I also noticed that you rigged the signal halyards correctly with two lines running through a pulley at the yard.

Regards. Tom

Song: As always much to learn from your woodworking technique. You do a lot of delicate and repetitive turning. My question is what sort of device do you use for wood turning and to obtain repeatability such as with the 40 mm barrels etc.

Best regards: Tom

HI Tom!
Thank you very much your kind words.
I do almost of all parts by hand. Because the small part especially aa gun barrells is very weak .
Best regards Song.
