Thanks Hank!
Today I soldered up the circular rails for the radar platforms. New technique for me at any rate. Turned a appropriate size wood cylinder to hold the wire while I soldered the ends together. Then used it to solder the legs on as well. Worked fairly well, Radars are now atop the masts.

Latest progress, not really progress at all. As I mix my own paint colors, when I run low I have to mix a new batch. Getting it "right" (meaning the same) is a challenge. There is white, black, blue and purple. Then it has to be mixed properly for either brushing or airbrush, depending on the need. A little frustrating as alcohol (for painting and cleaning) just not available, snapped up in the great TP rush.
I use the Golden Acrylics (Fluide) which are thankfully available at my local arts and crafts store (no hobby shops here). This particular chain seems to put out very frequent 40-50% off coupons, which I shamelessly use.

One disadvantage with the acrylics is the very thorough cleaning the airbrush needs. Murphy, being a lawyer was visiting and as I was taking the nozzle apart I heard a tink and the inner nozzle flew off to places never to be seen again, despite a thorough search which spawned some needed area cleaning.
What's Chuck's motto? 'Evaluating the new carpet under the modeling area". Despite hardwood floors stuff can still evaporate.

I went to order a new nozzle from Dick Blick, it's about a $4 piece. They wanted $14 to mail it to me because of the size and weight? It's about the size of three rice grains. Found another art store vendor who would send it first class for a couple of bucks.
I can't dispute your theory on an empirical basis.
Maybe I should more seriously start working on the prop?

I made some prop blade holders and put a 12-24 machine screw thread on them. Today I went to the hardware store and that turns out to be a very unusual size... So I do have a tap that size, I'll have to make my own nut plates. As we are sort of opened up now, the Lowe's (2nd place I looked) parking lot was completely full! They didn't have any either.
See how it comes together!

Well humph!
I'll show it anyway, prop try #1. I made the jig using whatever was around the house. I think I will have to buy a good base sheet to more accurately lay out everything. The jig works great, the soldering only takes a couple of minutes if that, but it's the setup that has to be very precise. Once the prop is soldered a significant challenge is curving the blades! A learning experience.
This is from the front of the prop looking aft. The shaft extension is left on to simplify the setup on the jig and willl be cutoff and the prop threaded onto a shaft.

On my Missouri I tried to weather them, haven't decided yet for this one. I temporally set the Rudder post held by pins at the top and bottom so it's removable for now so I can think about it.
Snow's gone, squished my first skeeter yesterday and almost hit 70 today. Nice weather may slow ship work!

Ha! Supposed to be 85 on Sunday! Saw a Spruce Grouse and a Goshawk by the house this morning.
Working around the prop hub area today smoothing and priming. Then get out the tape and boot and hull colors again! At least I don't have to mix those!

Mostly outside work today in perfect Summer weather. But did paint the rudder and post and pin them in place. The rudder post is attached by a steel pin at the top and bottom for now as I settle in about the prop. As the prop backs right against the rudder, it can only be changed with removal of the rudder post, at least on my model. On the actual ship apparently bolts went thru the hub to the shaft flange. Unusually, the rudder has a boot topping on it!
