Hi Mike,

thanks for the advice, it indeed makes a lot of noise, but I can't really find a solution. There just isn't enough space to align them in a better way. Anyway I'll think it over again, I can still reach them.

Hi Roel have you given any thought to a belt drive you can get the connection to the shaft lower in the hull with out sacrificing alignment, the ratios can be adjusted . Also it may be worth considering the type of shaft to motor linkages I make use of .

Well it looks as if my a@@ is stuck on the beach for a month so there is only one things for it! She's had chance to forget about everything (yeah! right!) and so I think its time to dust down the Udaloy and press on with her :)

Thanks Dave

Well dragged it out from underneath all the daughters rubbish she had piled on top.

Seems to have stored quite well.

Hello John,

the model still looks the same. I've finally added the main deck forward and added the rail system there, but that's basically where I stopped. After this model I was a little tired of "correcting someone else's mistakes" and started the full scratchbuild of the Chaconia instead. I do intend to get back to that Udaloy some day. I'm going to move very soon and I'll have more space, and that will make working on it a lot easier as well. With all I've learned from the Chaconia I'm pretty convinced the Udaloy model will end up a lot better than initially expected as well!

Hello Neptune :)

I've read your post with great interest because I'm starting my Sovremenny from Arkmodel and some construction steps are very similar.
