Ahhh! That photo of Daring without her bridge was looking looking at a person with a blank face! Frightening!

She'll make for a phenomenal photo shoot when she's done! Indistinguishable from the real thing, I think!

Hi Timmy thanks for the kind words . I for one will be pleased to see this project completed . It's been a challenging build and I am sure it will have helped when I move on the Soobraziltelnyy By the way the aviation aboard Daring is the Super Lynx , I managed to a purchase a 1:72scale Hobby Boss kit which I am in the process of building . Soobraziltelnyy has the KA27

Hi Norberto Thank you my friend , for those that are quite new to this board I did a separate build on the hanger interior , installing lighting . I notice that the hanger on the Russian Soobraziltelneyy is a real squeeze for the KA27 with very little room to spare .

Hi Robbie thanks for your support and interest. Looking at the new generation of low RCS warships these are very different from previous designs and can pose some model making challenges. Daring and my follow project of the Russian corvette are just two examples .

Hi Dave,

As always, just beautiful work, wish I had your skills........

A bit of excitement this week for us down under. I, along with a lot of others, will have the privilege of watching HMS D enter Sydney harbour on Friday of this week. Very excited.

Varyag was also supposed to be coming but she has been re assigned at the last minute, bit disappointing.

Still, should be able to post some nice photos for you. I will be with a group of fellow TF72 members on a ferry on the water when the ships enter harbour :woo_hoo:

Regards,

Andrew

Dave how have you been? as Andrew mentioned about meeting Jonathan at the IFR I too had the pleasure of meeting him on the harbor cruise and later at Garden Island, very funny guy! And it was the first time that Andrew and I had seen each other as we live in different States. The event was a great time to meet new and old friends, also on that weekend I picked up my STEREGUSHCHIY from another club member it's still driving around the Australian outback until this weekend when she will be home in South Australia. Even though the model has her decks done and some superstructure I will be striping her back to her hull and doing it my way, I will be watching your post very closely. Scott

Hi Scott good to hear from you and really pleased that you all had a super IFR 100 . It is of course great to meet those that are often only names that you know but are friends when you meet them , I have had a good look at some of the pictures of the warships in the IFR sent over so far and the images are stunning. :thumbs_up_1: :wave_1:

Thanks Dave :)

Heard from Tim at southern cross that my hull will be in the post on monday! so only a few days from adelaide to perth. Already have a great set of plans burning a hole in my workbench hahaha Now I'm wanting to join Task Force 72 I've found out that there is a STOIKY, BOIKY and the STERE herself being built already around the country, so to I'll be targeting the Soobrazitelny or SOOBY pennant number 531 :) unfortunately she wasn't fitted with that cool Kashtan fwd but with the VLS instead. The easier option for sure but after seeing your mini build! I might just have to make one for fun!

Gday Dave as you may be aware here in OZ the Steregushchiy Class is becoming very popular model to build. So far I'm aware of 5 builds.
I chose myself the Steregushchiy since it will help me when I need to build 9 Kashtan CIWS. (God help me)
Today I hit a problem with my build and need to recheck my build and see where I went wrong and redo that part of the build.
Bloody angles but at least it will give me and idea what to expect when I start of the Frunze (Kirov Class)

So will it be soon when you start?

hi Mick good to hear from you and to see your build of the Steregushchiy . Yes the shapes and angles are critical especially around the foremast . It wont be long as I'll be launching Daring on Sunday the 15th of December for its one and only sail. I just hope the weather is favourable .After that I'll be able to clear the bench .

Hi Dave,

Really hoping for you to have dry weather & fair winds for launching HMS DARING this coming Sunday! it's a shame we don't live closer! but, I am sure you will do all T45 Destroyer fans proud! You have done a cracking job and she is looking truly magnificent. Now to get cracking on with my Dragon!
I wait in anticipation to hear about her successful sea trials. In the meantime look after yourself and have a Very Merry Christmas and to your family. :wave_1:

Regards,

Robbie
