Hello russclark

To my mind you've made a good job on them and the hull
plating turned out very well, too! A really lovely model!

Sincerely

Chrischan

Russ

This is a lovely model. I would certainly make room for it in my study (in a nice mahogany and glass case). Excellent build quality. Well done.

hi guys ,I have mounted and rigged one life boat ,the next 5 are basically all the same .I used stretchy thread for the lifting blocks seemed to make it easier to keep it tight.as I do the rest of them I will get better

I've dropped in here quite a few times,..
At first the project didn't really grab me, passenger vessels have never really been my thing. But nonetheless I would check in from time to time to see your building solutions, then a funny thing happened.
As the project took shape I started to become interested in the subject. At the builds current stage I'm a bit surprised in that I've actually started to admire this type of vessel. Ocean liners still leave me a little flat, but these small steam passenger ships have character.
Keep up the good work!

Mick

thank you mick, she has quite a history, built in Scotland by Napier &miller of old Kilpatrick in 1923.and sailed around the horn to coastal British Columbia, during w.w2 she was painted gray because of fear of Japanese subs, scraped in 1960 and is still visible as a breakwater at Kelsey bay mid Vancouver island

That's a very nice model and an inspiring built to me.
If I'll ever finish my current project, something more "peaceable" like your "Cardena" might be on my wish list ;)

Best regards
Stefan

Yes, I read about it.
However they looked more like entirely new-built ships than conversions.
Basically it is not a bad idea (I mean build a new one, not converting my corvette ;)) but photos are rare and plans not available I think.

Best regards
Stefan

I see the silent season hasn't reduced any of your skill! Some great detailing you're making there. Those tarp covered boats look the part. :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:
