Hi okram12
I think that the problem is in which year we are talking about, unsure about which date but the KGV was updated in this position, I have looked at my plans and the original 1940 KGV does not have the shall we say bulge above the ladders but has a charly float there and has an indent in the structer were the ladder is and the photo we have is from 1946 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... _Green.jpg

I mainly about the shape of the base of the superstructure. I analyzed myself now and I see that I did back wall unnecessarily so long. You have to draw the plans for the shape of your board and superstructure base is different. The rest looks ok.

The funnels that are there will be coverd with styrine. all the majore large work is done now to proced with the small items on the structre. Also waiting to get a one piece section for the compartments, instead of the three that I have now.

I cut 3 plates from styrene in the format that surrounds the funnel and each lesser plate that to another one and I filled with puty and later I sandpapered giving the format :wave_1:

Ian,

Here is the hard way to get the skirts around the funnel. First you create a 3D CAD model:

http://www.okieboat.com/CAD%20smoke%20pipes.html

Then you flatten the skirts into a 2D outline and make a photoetch:

http://www.okieboat.com/Copyright%20ima ... 24%20C.jpg

Someone posted a tip on how to calculate conical sections on the Forum somewhere, but I don't remember where. Maybe someone else remembers.

Phil

Hi :wave_1: :wave_1:
Thanks for all the input chaps ,I will endever to be worthy of it.

Also had to go back into the loft this week seems the CIC is alergic to the glue that I am using, and since I was up there I had a good look at the KGV's deck, and was not happy with it, so now the whole deck has been removed to be replaced with one that has more rigitness about it, I'am sure you chaps know what I mean, also have decided to use only two moters powered and two free. I will post some photos as soon as poss. :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Ian

Plus I did not like the way the deck was looking, looked very poor and scruffy, so of it came, time for a replacement deck.
also I will be able to level up the side walls easiler.
