Thank u Norbert. No, the model is not for sailing. The hangar deck will be fully detailed, and there will be no space for electric motors or other equipment. Anyway, i prefer static models instead of RC models.

Interesting construction method. Is the plastic card sheathing to be covered or is it the final shell plating?

Regards. T

I really liked your progress so far, and very excited about the next pictures of your work. :thumbs_up_1: :woo_hoo:

I'm also planning to do scratchbuilt of Nimitz some time in future (maybe 2015, need lots of improvements for my skills), therefore I would be appreciated if you could give answers to my questions indicated below;

1) Where can I download the template for the nimitz (I mean the drawings that you have used for cutting the hull parts) ? If you could send me the link, I would be very happy (you could send me also via PM)

2) How do you plan to build the planes? Again scratchbuilt or is there any 1/200 planes in the market?

Thank you in Advance

Thanks to all for your attention in my Project.
Fliger: Yes the plastic card will be the final covering for the hull, after tons of sanding of course.

Uzin: I enjoy your plans to build another Nimitz ;-)
For your first question, i got the planes in Best Ship Models. Here is the link: http://www.bestshipmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14&products_id=47&zenid=1q54lcnqu0clinct29aue442e2. these plans costs 69,12 $. You have in these plans all the information to build the hull, including the ribs´shape. in addition to the plans, i have tons of pictures that i have been taking form the web.

The second question: All the planes will be built enterely from scratch. In fact, i have started a S-3 Viking. I plan to build a master copy, an then obatain rasin copies.

I hope i help you. For more questions, don´t hesitate to ask me.

Jorge

Dear Jorge,

Thank you for the all the information that you have indicated, all of them are well noted. Although I guess I could do the structure with this plan, fI have lots of doubts for scratchbuilding the planes. Probably making the hull as 1/144 scale would be more appropriate for me :)

I would definetly like to see your next pictures of progress with the project. Again thanks a lot

Dear Uzun:

I support your idea of building a 1/144 Scale carrier, because you have a wide variety of planes at this scale. I would choose this option if a would have enough space at home, but is not the case. Anyway, at 1/200 scale you have the challenge of build your own planes. A little more work, of course, but you will enjoy to build your own planes :cool_2:

I will post the pictures of my first planes as soon as posible. I´m also working in my first F-18C :heh:

Jorge

Hi again:

I continue working in ths amazing ship (amazing the real ship, not mine :heh: )

The covering of the hull continues with 1 mm evergreen sheet.
Image

The bow bulb is made by 2 mm evergreen sheet layers glued together.
Image

Image

Then the bow bulb needs some sanding to get the final shape.
Image

Image

Image

that´s all for the moment.
