Please speak in English so I do not miss any advice or sharing I can learn. I like how Jose builds and I am serious about learning from him. He seems to be on the fence and anything said could make him decide to quit building. I want to learn from him and also see there are people who enjoy his building as well.

Sorry here is a picture of Shokaku anchor chain capstan and locker in the coral sea damage photos. Hope the photos help even though the ship is damaged.

Shokaku anchor chain and capstan taken after Coral Sea Battle. Very similar to Tone's in picture before.

Hello to all... thanks for all the comments and photos. They are appreciated. :thumbs_up_1:

Answering Dave...Shokaku will be a full static model.
So... some more advances...

Cutting some slots in the "keel", were hull sections will be inserted.

Image

All sections are now inserted into the right place.

Image

Adding some rigidity to the whole structure, through the addition of wooden rods.

Image

An almost perfect, straight "keel"!... not bad, for a 350+cm hull! :woo_hoo:

Image

That´s all for now... if you have comments or questions (and if they were not yet answered), feel free to write.

:cool_2: .

Keep posting mate.
I look forward to seeing this project come along.
Not sure if you have answered this question yet, Is it RC or static?

Just read and you have already answered this question. Pitty it's Static, maybe you should reconsider this and make your ship come alive.

Hello

Thanks for all the comments. :thumbs_up_1:
R/C really isn´t "my thing"... I don´t know why, but I never really got into that...

Some more advances... When I started covering the hull with balsa, I still noticed a small hull distortion/warpage along its length...

Image

Therefore, I decided to add, what will become, the basis for the flight deck. It will also act as a structural reinforcement.

Image

Image

With those (4) pieces cut according to plans and fixed to the whole structure, I can now resume work on that balsa covering... more news, soon...

Wow, another carrier  :thumbs_up_1: . Very good work Jose. I cannot wait to see more advances. The structure of the hull is very well made.

Hi

Apart from 1 or 2 persons, it seems that there isn´t a lot of people interested in this build, ... anyway, for those interested, here´s a couple of pictures of my most recent developments...
It takes me some time to describe all the work involved therefore, from now on, I will only post one or two occasional pictures...

Working on all the recessements under the hull

Also, carving and shaping the bow...

Enjoy... or whatever...

Sure we are, just silently following. Great build so far. Indeed an odd choice not to make such a large ship R/C, although I must admit R/C'ing a hull does complicate a lot of things. The need to get it watertight and of course also the structure of the build itself.

I think most people are anxiously waiting to see the detailing on this build, because this size does give some nice opportunities on the detailing side!

Looking forward for next update, keep it coming :thumbs_up_1:
