Beautiful.

You can attach several photos to one posting. Used to be 10, but I'm not sure how the file size change has affected that number.

8 more hours

This was tricky, looking at a dozen different references, I have a dozen different interpretations of how this bit goes
so, in the end, I have gone with the plans I have.

I have seen a good half dozen interpretations of the funnel area, however, I have found a magnificent
photo that shows the bracings beautifully.
they are fun to make

Herbie,

Very nice work! I followed your Yamato build, and now with the Kirishima it looks like you are thinking like the original designers.

I like the bedding roles tied on the superstructure. I have visited the Mikasa in Yokosuka and they had bed rolls all around the bridge at the Battle of Tsushima in 1905. I guess it goes back to the days of wooden sailing ships when they stuffed bed rolls behind the bulwarks to catch splinters. But you have to wonder how effective the bed rolls were in WWII? I guess it did get the flammable materials out of the interior compartments.

Phil
