Can't recall where but I read that the bags contain coiled rope.
Makes sense that rope coils would be better stored in bags for quick use, and in your Hornblower they send the women passengers to the cable tier for protection from shot and splinters.
Rope coils would be tougher and less fire hazard than bedding.

Was reading on the TF72 facebook page that Tim has been having email problems (probably the stupid NBN rollout..he out in the county) try contacting him by phone or try Russ at Defence Models and Graphics he should be able to get word to Tim if you can't get hold of him....

Continued nice work.

Rolled hammocks for splinter protection. Coiled hawser ropes was also used.

I have contacted Tim, hull is , and I am going to push for this , to be ready in November
It needs to be, I will have run out of things to build by then

interpreting the plans for this platform..............ugg, I have seen no less than 5 different interpretations
In the end, I went for the photos I have, as unclear as they are, and the plans I bought.

and that's the guns almost done, just a clean up and paint

Next the mast.then the main turrets, and guardrails
After that, I am finished until the hull is done

So this really, is what I think its all about

After a terribly stressful week at work, one can escape to the workshop.
All week, its been in the back of the mind, how to tackle the mast.
There is the challenge of interpreting the plans, the study of the photos, the few we have, and the, how the hell will
we do this

But slowly you go to it, some of it need 2, even 3 goes, and things grow. It was a good week end this one, and
surprisingly, I think I might be getting the hang of this at last.
Aft mast is coming along

I am actually keen to start the turrets soon............
