This is main deck above casement guns. I am steadily placing down the foundations and equipment on this deck
in preparation for deck planking.

You all know the feeling

4 hours...............and nothing achieved!!!

Still, you will have a hard time persuading me that that was four hours wasted.

I used to design 3D parts and didn't think of saving them when the laptop just happen to close the program by itself. It happens many times and sometimes I even cried if the project was really complex! LOL It was really a waste of time...

This shows what for me was a very difficult stage.
The outside diameter of the barbettes is exactly 130 mm, try and find tube to that size!!!
Anyway, I did.
But how to cut It exactly square, and to exact size?

Anyway, I made a mitre box, bought a good new saw, and went for it
Now have begun a apart I really enjoy, the slow steady planking procedure

6 hours all up this week end
16 dollars for a saw, 10 for mitre box wood

Hi Herbie,
Doing great! Looking forward to seeing more progress with the planking too.
I'm new to modelling so please forgive my ignorance, I just wanted to ask, do you mold parts like the winches or do you cut, shape and glue them together?
Regards,
Phil

Hi friend

All scratch built, you just give yourself a big range of styrene shapes, and away you go.
A dremil is essential!!
