Hi Bob,
thanks for the advice. I opted for a darker primer, much like I did before, but this time I sprayed the orange on top. It had the effect I aimed for. The orange, when used straight, is very fluorescent and bright. I didn't really want that, so that's why I wanted the darker primer. This did work, however at first I was brushing the orange, and the pigment collected around the edges, with the flat parts not being coloured at all. With airbrushing however, the pigment stays much better spread around and you can see the effect below. It's not as bright as I wanted it, but it'll do. Another experience richer!
Furthermore I've been busy with a lot of details. The small foldable crane that sits on top of the aft towing fitting. The gratings on the aft of the superstructure (more to come there, they're connected by stairs.

And I've been turning the navigation lights from transparent sprue from kits. Used the sprue of the Tamiya Shimokita kit since it has a slightly larger diameter than Trumpeter's aircraft from Kuznetsov. They came out nice.

The top details of the bridge also received some coats, I'll add a drop or two more yellow for the final coat. Once installed I can add the lights.

Still a lot of stuff dry fitted in below pics, so don't worry if you see something in a strange position. The funnels aren't lined up yet, since I first need to finish the bridge.
Edit: as you can see, the liferafts are also finished, just need to make the cradles now.
