Hello again,
here is some photos of my progress with the funnels. I am quite happy with how they are turning out. I know the base of both of them is not right, but I just couldn't get my head around getting them right...
cheers, Will

Hi Will, Keep an eye out on your email I be sending you a side view plan of a destroyer, not bad, I think we had them as well during WW 11.

Those funnels hare turned out well you must be pretty happy, how much more work to be done before the ship is ready to put back into the water.

Has it cooled down where you are in NSW, not here, we copped 41 degrees on Tuesday and being in the mid 30's all week and no sing of much rain, the storms seam to be missing us now, storm predicted for this afternoon .

Camdale is at a stand still , but have being working on the double deck bridge , first arch completed three more to go, pics of progress in your email.

Hello Tony,
not sure when I will be putting the hull in the water again. The school pool is the only place to float and it is only small, so for the priority (and fun) is building a large model warship that will eventually become RC. Looking forward to having a look at your email with the destroyer.
.
I have been doing some work on the upper bridge. I bought some Shapeways rangefinder and gun director, as well as other bits and pieces. Lovely stuff and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. The upper bridge is starting to look much better. I am of the opinion the gun director, the forward piece of equipment with railing may be slightly too high, but I may be wrong.
Cheers, Will

Hi Will, those look good to me, do you have a lot of pics you can look at is the be way to go, what I do, in contact with my ships captain has being a big hel.

Did they keep one ship as a museum piece,

Those pics are awesome, I hope my ship will turn out like yours has, have you seen the ship drawing on your email, Revell bought a model out on that ship,
Wonder if they did the same with your build, my bulkheads are like yours, start work on the ramp from the top deck to upper deck.

How is the weather where you live cooling down.

Tony

Hi Will, how are you going, any more progress on the Destroyer, being cold down there, well sure has this winter here, we dropped down to minus 4 a few morning, being was zero this morning.

I have had a lot more progress on my ship, have cut out al the keel plates and keel and joined them all up wow she is going to be very impressing indeed when finely finishing the hull, working on the stern double ramp has two stern ramps, pics to follow today.

Look forward to more progress pics.

Tony from cold S/E QLD

G'day Will. These shots were located in the archives at the current HMAS Waterhen. I believe the first two are unique and haven't been shown online before.
In regards to the gun director,it would be hard to tell on the height as there were differences on all bridges of Australian V&W class. And I think the censor has had a go at these shots, you can plainly
see some whiteout around the funnel on the third shot so i think they blanked out the director in the photo. I've attached a pic of Vampire's bridge from 1940 which shows the gun director height well but take it with a pinch of salt as Waterhen's director could easily be a different height. Also a nice pic of Voyager's bridge for reference to how crowded it was on these ships.

Cheers.

Wow, thanks again, these photographs are fantastic and I can try to detail the bridge a bit more. Keep them coming if you have any more!.
.
Hello Tony, sorry I have been off the modelling for a while, things get hectic and it goes to the back of the bus. The photos from Mstary have re-fired the boilers and I am keen to get back into it. I hope your ship is progressing well, I cant wait to see what you have done in the interim,
cheers, Will

Hello, it’s been a while but have been doing a bit more lately. I have finally secured the forecastle deck on properly and am applying some resin before adding the deck detail and paint. The kids were happily playing with their LEGO while I made a mess. All the best for 2020,
Cheers will
