Hello folks,

my dad and I are building the ORP Orkan together. Since we both are beginners in this area, we hope to get some tips, tricks and information if needed. The current state is seen in the attached photo below:

Constructive criticism is always well-received.

Since we can't laminate in winter, we are working on details now.

Looks fantastic with nice clean lines - I look forward to your progress. How did you make the hull, if I may ask, cheers Will

Hello Will,

thanks for the compliment.

The hull was made using two methods:
The main part (middle) was made using rib cage created with a laser-cutter.
The bow and astern are made with a milling machine. Smaller hulls (ex. Grey Goose and PC-553) are completely CNC milled.

We will add another thread for the smaller ones later as well.

Greetings
Allan (son) and Adam (dad)

I had to look up the Orkan.

Looks like you're going to need secondary armaments. 3D Boats on Shapeways should be able to hook you up -

1 × quadruple QF 2-pdr (40 mm) Mk VIII AA guns
https://www.shapeways.com/product/KCJL4 ... d=59816807

2 × single Oerlikon 20 mm (0.8 in) AA guns
https://www.shapeways.com/product/P4W5A ... d=57169489
or
https://www.shapeways.com/product/7WY7J ... d=60206230

2 × quadruple, 2 × twin 0.5 in (12.7 mm) Vickers Mark III anti-aircraft machineguns
https://www.shapeways.com/product/UBQ9H ... d=42202884 <- quads here, not sure if he does .5 Vickers twins but if you show him this thread/tell him what you're up to I'm thinking he'd cobble up something for you.

Again, crisp clean lines, very nice - I will have to start measuring up to your standards, cheers, Will
