Song,

Happy holidays!

I have seen pictures of your anchor chains on several occasions on this Forum. Could you explain for us how you do it?

Phil

The method :
1.Make each link, drill the narrow panel 2hoes and cut and make shape of link by fine sandpaper or file.
Prepare enouh Qtys of link.(1st photo)
2.split a link and insert links both sides(3links) then glue the other piece of link.(2nd photo and 3rd)
3.connect links same method untill wanted lenth.
Cheers: Song.

Yes, in the photos, the give away to the technique was the razor blade and the split link.

Song is unmatched in producing items the rest of us purchase. A prompt to create the 40 mm Quad and twins for my APA from scratch! As Song demonstrates, if you can make one, you can make more than one!

Here it is Christmas morning, greeting to my friends around the world, for many it was yesterday, and some not till January 7 th.

I checked out your Fletcher's and your 40 mm's. Very nice small turnings for the barrels, I have been experimenting with this but not 100% satisfied as yet.

Good work! Tom

The inclined ladders are very impressive in the 1:200 scale! I have been building such ladders in 1:125, which is light years easier from Strathmore paper. The advantage I so far find with the paper is that I can glue it with wood glue over a plexiglass jig, the wood glue not sticking to the plexiglass. That you produce these in 1:200 in wood is fine work indeed!

Happy New year! Tom

Song:

Having worked in that scale (darn close anyway) I know how small those bitts and pieces are!

As always an inspiration to continue to scratch away at pieces that could be purchased. Actually scratching away at the small parts is rather satisfying, and each batch is eventually done!

Cheers: Tom
