A few more pictures of the construction of Richard Myotka’s superb Udaloy2 the Admiral Chabanenko. With a focus on the construction of the main mast and a look at a similar type of arrangement on the Udaloy 1 Admiral Levchenko .

In these pictures Richards Udaloy 2 is nearing completion but still plenty of work to do.

Its worth remembering that the entire model is scratch built and the hull is made from card covered in GRP resin .

Many of the pictures seen here are supplied by Richard and is testimony to Richards skill as a truely outstanding modelmaker.
Enjoy

I must admit every time that you blink it's hard to believe the model is not the real vessel . Ok the real udaloy is........ or part therein? Would you believe there is no PE on this model , all the arrays are made from scratch which makes it even more astounding.

It looks like Richard Myotka has studied Bill Waldorf's building methods... or maybe the other way around!

Just goes to show, no matter how hard you try, no matter how good one thinks they are doing, there is ALWAYS somebody better! Cest la vie. :wave_1:

Ron and myself see a number of models of equal quality once every two months and it never fails to inspire us both , just to look at the level of workmanship even though I know it's out of my reach. Non the less with out modellers like Ron and Bill explaining "how to" then such inspirational workmanship as this Udaloy2 would be meaningless as it would be difficult to understand how these models are built.

I try to show as much stuff as I can as far as "how to" stuff goes. I hope all remember, I have a ship to build and a deadline to meet. I have others anxiously awaiting the current project. So it's not that I don't want to show all aspects, I simply don't have the time. I think ARH is a bit more flexible, as he keeps all his models. I sometimes wish I could........

He, he. I couldn´understand why Timmy was so confused about the model and the real thing, since it was plain clear that the model was on the two first pictures and then the last one.

I just realised how wrong I was only a minute ago!. Timmy, joining your ranks! :lol_1:

Awesome build. Abslutely awesome.
