Good morning. I have been building H.M.S Kashmir for a number of years, there is much work done, the hull is still in basic form, b/b construction but fully carved and shaped. All the superstructure assembly's are well advanced, all from plasticard tube and strip, most as yet unpainted, I would estimate probably at 70 % complete for whole project.
The plans used are from David Mc Gregor plans, London, at 1/96 scale. I have doubled these up tp1/48 which gives plenty of scope for detail, there are also drawings from John Lambert, Bedford.
My intention had been to use the wood hull as a former and use tinplate to follow the plating plan, so the hull has no decking at this time.
As I am now 77, and eyesight not as good, the detail work would be difficult, hence the hope of passing the project on.
I am based at Rushmere, near Lowestoft, Colin...
