The Cape Class Patrol Boats (CCPBs) are a 58 m long all aluminium vessel built by Austal in Western Australia. The original eight CCPBs were constructed for Australian Boarder Force. An additional two were then constructed and were leased to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) to supplement the Armidale Class Patrol Boat (ACPB) fleet. Two more were then procured by Trinadad and Tobago. Recently an additional six Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boats (ECCPBs) have been ordered with the first ship of this order entering service with the RAN in March 2022.
I have constructed several 1:72nd scale models of the CCPBs in recent years and the photos in the following posts show how the journey has progressed.
