Harland & Wolff building plate design, Belfast, for the presentation stand of my future Titanic Trumpeter 1/200 assembly project.

Plate of the SS Nomadic:

I used the model of the "HMS Belfast" (C35).

I straightened it digitally so that it could be used as a canvas for my own design:

That's it, it's a finish, it took one day.

A bit of work with the lettering, letters that I rectified one by one and also affixed, because I don't have the exact font, moreover according to the size of the letter it's different.

It's simply the classic bold Arial that comes close to it.

A first copy, 71 mm wide:

Really looking forward to receiving the 4K printer Sonic from Phrozen, it shouldn't be long now.

I have to reduce the height of the top letters, a phenomenon known to resin printing with my Photon S.

Painting test on my 7 cm plate, the first one I printed.

I chose Revell 92 for the bronze, and Revell SM 302 satin, for the black, with airbrush, it looks good.

I found an acceptable technique to apply the bronze paint, with the foam pad it didn't do it, I used a cotton swab impregnated with paint, but not too much, by turning it, I put the paint on a paper towel first.

For the application, put the cotton rod parallel to the plate, do a small touch, and always go in the direction where you have rolled up the cotton fibres.

I painted the screws with a brush.

The second modified plate should be better, inscriptions and paintings, this one was used as a test plate.

I have the choice with Enamel!

Yesterday, I received the Anycubic Mono X 3D printer.

I was able to test . Beautiful machine! Very heavy, which is a good sign for the stiffness.

The result is a little more precise. You can see it. The vertical surfaces are cleaner. It is two machines from the same manufacturer running at the same resolution of 50 microns. Only the LCD screen is different, one color for the Photon S and one monochrome for the Mono X. The faces of the object have a good surface rendering, this is a problem with the Photon S.

The size of the plate is impressive as well as the printing height. This will facilitate the printing of the shells. I bought this machine for this reason, not expecting a better quality.

From the same file not modified (7 cm large):

Have you ever used the resins made for investment castings? Would make a brilliant bronze belt buckle...
