Some accessories for the trawler Marsouin L.270 (1910) from Navig or more generally for the Mersey Class, at 1/33 for the friend Georges.

The sketch is very simple, 2 to 3 hours of drawing for the moment, there are some details to rectify. It is possible to put a ladder also to access the whistle or foghorn for maintenance.

The pipe at the back of the chimney pipe is the exhaust of the steam safety valves of the steam installation, boiler etc..

The chimneys were very high at the time to promote the natural draft of the boiler. Later they were shortened with the forced ventilation of the furnace by a fan (turbo fan), and the advent of heavy fuel oil heating which replaced coal.

The design is not yet finalized at the beginning.

The printing will be done in two sections because this chimney is 250 mm high, exceeding by a few centimeters the printing possibilities of my printer. The fitting of the two elements will not be seen.

The sketch:

You can see on the first picture how the two pieces are assembled.

The rear pipe will be printed separately.

Drawing of the unique air duct which supplies the machine compartment and especially the boiler with fresh air.

The upper part of the duct can be directed like the real one.

Somehow digital renderings and reality seem to blurr ... the last image shows the printed items or is another rendering

Pascal,

The level of detail possible in the larger scales is really beautiful. Your work is very nice.

A few years back someone posted a scratch build of the WWII PT boat at 1:35 scale. Everything was there right down to individual cable runs and faces on the instrument panel gauges!
