Bad weather, all is broken..

The dining room is finished.

It's simplified to the max as you won't see much from the outside, I checked.

I have taken over the design of the poop deck, the main deck accommodation aft will continue.

Very nice! Too bad you can't pipe in some light, as from fiber optics or something? Good detail, always adds a lot to a model.

C'est Bon!

Where is the entrance to the dining room? The brown bulkheads seem to lack doors.

Too late Tom, this point should have been studied before. And that complicates the ship even more.
On another project perhaps one day. :thumbs_up_1:

It has 3 doors on plan. But I simplified it, because they would not have been seen from the outside through the portholes. No need to waste time on invisible details.

Time is what I miss the most.

Installation of portholes, doors, lighting, ventilation and scuttles on the starboard side of the aft block, port side is different.

I have almost finished the main deck fittings.

I still have to design the aft bar and its lounge as it will be "open". One of the cabins will also be furnished.

The plan:

The cabin that is drawn.

The bar, "Music lounge".

The passageway between the front and back blocks. The ventilation grilles of the engine room can be seen here.

Interesting photos! The upper davit is fairly interesting, a quick acting!

Thank you for presenting very different ships with history.

Cheers: Tom

What is actually quite surprising is that this ship was originally built for use on the Great Lakes, rather than say Mediterranean cruises ... a lot of money went into it.

I think I saw an estimate of its price at 20 million euros in 2015. But it was estimated at 36 million at one time.

It originally cost $2 million to build, dollars at the time (1921).

The Delphine caught fire and sank in New York in 1926, before being salvaged and restored. She suffered further damage in 1940 when she ran aground in the Great Lakes and was repaired.

The bar on the main deck looked much worse after that! You can see the piano on the left.

Drawings of the exterior sofas, sliding doors, woodwork, and Steinway piano (in progress).

I have found a small plan that fits this scale.

Quite the interesting history! I expect the bar needs securing for sea? A vessel of this type, owner parties probably show up after it gets to it's appointed location, traveling by Gulfstream or whatever.

Cheers: Tom

I am afraid, you will have to imitate those piano keys - real ivory is difficult to come by these days

I closed the lid.

A nice 3D drawing here:

That's it for the piano, I'm going to continue with the bar.

Indeed, it must roll well.

This ship remains in the Mediterranean to my knowledge, it is based in Monaco since several years.

It is rented in the summer.

The booklet ( 2018 ):

Back to the real thing today ( I like this alternation ) with the printing of the rear fittings, it's very long, so we had to judiciously cut the drawing.

And to connect them all just as carefully and to the actual length of the fitting. Image

The piano is almost finished, some touching up to do.

I have also made progress on the painting of the rear block, which is almost finished too.

I still have to finish the bar and bedroom fittings.

I started painting the main teak deck with the Vallejo Set.

I went back to the drawing board to finish the bar elements. Bar, back bar, club chairs.

The elements are printed, now they have to be painted.

Nice job on the piano. I'll guess that you have included all the wires, connections to the keys, fully operable. As with some other scaling effects, such as miniature hydro or aerodynamics, scale wires vibrate at a much much higher pitch! Very enjoyable seeing the interiors fitted with appropriate furnishings, a lifestyle that most of us will not be acquainted with. I see that one can bring their own staff for rentals! Maybe I could afford the cheap suite for a couple of weeks... No staff!

Model ships tickle the imagination and give people a virtual entry into a world past or otherwise out of experience, so your creation here well satisfies these requirements!

Cheers: Tom
