My next update.

Decided to make a detailed conning tower (not that any of that will be visible once the ship is finished, but if you look at it from the side you will be able to see through the top of the CT):

An will make opened engine room lightcovers:
Image

Built the second smokestack and attached both of them to the hull. Made the barbettes and various small hull details:
Image
Image

And made various miscellaneous parts:
12" gun barrels made from hypodermic tubing:
Image

And the bridge:

That is it for now. Next up is detailing of the hull...

Nice !
Maybe a stupid question, sorry, but how do you mark the plan on styrene sheet? Did you just glue a paper copy (but them it needs to be unglued before adding details?)?

No, I leave the paper glued to the hull. The way I do it is - I print out the plan on the regular inkjet printer, then take the thinnest superglue that I have and make a big puddle of it on the plastic sheet in the form of the deck, glue the paper print out to it, then one it is dry I cover it with the thin layer of superglue on the top of the paper. Once that is dry I lightly sand it to make it smooth and that is it. The paper stays laminated to the styrene. As long as there are no air bubbles or places where there was no glue, you will have no problems. I was even able to scribe it to simulate wooden deck.

No, just paint it whatever tan color you think looks closest to wood and do a wash and dry brush it. Here is what it looks like after painting:

Finished the first level of detailing of the hull - made all of the major details of the deck and the sides:

Next step is to prime it to see if there are any areas that need to be fixed/sanded and finish detailing the hull with PE doors, torpedo net booms and so on.

Finished the detailing of the hull. Added the torpedo net booms, added photoetch doors and anchors:

After that I painted the ship. I used airbrush to paint all of the colors, first I painted the deck color, then after masking it with the strips of tape I painted the hull, then the stacks and finally white superstructure. The windows were made from pieces of decals:

Next step is to do the wash and drybrush.

Started doing the detailing of the ship. The hardest part was the flying bridge, which had to be attached straight and had several dozen supports which all also had to be attached straight. All in all it took several days to attach it.

Made the covers for the light portals

And Anchors with all of the stuff around them

What did you use for your anchor chain?

Just a regular PE chain that that I cut to pieces and made into a real chain.

Made the gunport covers and glued in the guns barrels. The 6" guns were made from hypodernc tubing and 47mm guns were made from cut-down 20mm Oerlikons.

Also made the stern walk. The railing was made from a ladder glued sideways:

After a break for vacation I got back to the model. I added the funnel caps and added railings on the bridge. The forward part of the railings was covered in canvas, so I simulated it by taking a white glue, thinning it with water and then using the capillary action to fill in the holes in the railing.
